Several airport workers detained for protesting poor conditions

Workers at Istanbul’s 3rd Airport were taken into custody at night for protesting against poor working conditions.

Workers at Istanbul’s 3rd Airport staged a demonstration on Friday in protest at exclusion, humiliation, lack of service, being kept waiting in the rain, poor food and accommodation and workplace deaths.

Friday evening, the employer announced accepting the demands of workers but later broke his word, upon which the workers continued their demonstration into the midnight.

The workers had their dormitory room raided by the police and gendarmerie at night.

Turkish military forces laid a siege in the workplace and detained the workers at midnight.
