Shops closed in Derik and Beytüþþebap against military operations

Shops were closed today in Derik (Mardin) and Beytüþþebap (Þýrnak) to protest against the ongoing military operations. In Þýrnak the other day a young child of 10 was killed, crashed by an armored police vehicle and for the past three days people have been protesting at the police violence and army operations. Only bakeries and pharmacies were opened. The streets look deserted.

In Beytüþþebap were last night clashes erupted between Kurdish guerrillas and Turkish security forces, police has raided many houses. There is a tense situation in the city.

At 1pm the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) will have a press conference.
