Shops closed to protest against Erdoðan's visit in Þýrnak

Shops did not open today to protest against the visit by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan. The PM will be in Þýrnak and Batman for his election meeting today.

The area has been declared military security zone and therefore movements have been restricted and people are witnessing an incredible increase in security.

Dozens of extra policemen have been sent to the city for security reason.

So far, the election tour by the Prime Minister in the Kurdish region has been a fiasco. Few thousands actually joined the rallies while thousands preferred to respond to the call by the People's Initiative Campaign which organized alternative meetings.
