Signatures for Rojava delivered to Swiss Parliament

Signatures collected against the invasion of Rojava, were presented to the Swiss Parliament.

The signatures collected by Medico International Schweiz demanding the end of the Turkish state occupation attacks against North-East Syria were presented to the Swiss Parliament.

After the joint press release read by several Swiss and Kurdistan parties, the signatures were delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and government officials.

A banner with the photographs of the civilians who died during the invasion attacks was put up in front of the National Parliament in Bern.

Speaking on behalf of Medico International, Maja Hess stressed the need to expand solidarity with the Kurdish people against the Turkish occupation attacks.

Stating that the ecological, female and free system created in Rojava was targeted by the occupation attacks, Hess also pointe out that it has been proved that the Turkish state used chemical weapons.

After Maja Hess, Claudia Friedli spoke on behalf of the Socialist Party. Then Amnesty International Representative and Turkey Desk Officer Maya Heuschmann spoke and finally a representative of Diyarbakir-Zurich Brotherhood Bridge spoke.

In the speeches, the international public and states were reminded of their duties and responsibilities to put pressure on the Turkish state to end the occupation of North-East Syria.

It was also stated that European states, especially the Swiss state, should end arms sales to the Turkish state.

After the speeches, the nearly 5 thousand signatures collected, were delivered to the authorities of Parliament.

On the other hand, a solidarity event will be organized in the evening by Bern Solidarity Committee with Rojava.
