ANDERSON: I SUPPORT YOU AND CONDEMN THE SILENCE
Irish MEP Martina Anderson from the European Parliament’s Women’s Committee and Italian feminist Eleonora Forenza visited the hunger strike and gave a message of solidarity.
Anderson said: “We understand you very well. We support you in your righteous struggle. I visited Leyla Guven 3 weeks ago, and I know why the hunger strikes are being held. We lost 11 of our comrades in hunger strikes. I went to visit Leyla Guven with this sentiment. And, I was in prison for 11 years, so I know how that feels like. I support your struggle and condemn the silence of European institutions.”
FORENZA: WE LEARNED FROM YOU
Italian feminist Eleonora Forenza also spoke and said: “We learned confederalism from you, and we feminists owe you for that. 2 weeks ago, we held a press conference with Dilek Ocalan. I condemn the silence of European institutions regarding the hunger strikes, starting with the EP.”
