Sırrı Süreyya Önder: The meeting with Erdoğan was very positive

Following the meeting with AKP Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder made a short statement and said: "It was a very positive meeting. We are much more hopeful."

Following Abdullah Öcalan's call on 27 February, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Imralı Delegation members Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder met with AKP chair and President Tayyip Erdoğan for the first time today, Thursday.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Complex and lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes. AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and Intelligence Organization Director İbrahim Kalın also attended the meeting.

Önder made a short statement and said: "It was a very positive meeting. We are much more hopeful now."

Pervin Buldan added: "It was a very productive meeting. The process is going well."

The DEM Party is expected to make a written statement regarding the meeting in the coming hours.
