Sirri Sureyya Onder goes to prison

Sirri Sureyya Onder went to prison today to serve his 3 year 6 month sentence. Onder said: “Every word we said, all the efforts we spent are an honor for us. Beautiful days are soon to come. If there is a price to be paid, it will be.”

Former HDP MP and Imrali Committee Spokesperson Sirri Sureyya Onder went to the Kandira Prison today to serve his finalized 3 year 6 month sentence, issued for a speech he gave in Newroz 2013 celebrations.

“SEEMS DISPRITING, BUT...”

Onder issued a written statement before he went to prison:

“We are experiencing times that are not surprising for those working for peace and democracy. This well of war and coarseness doesn’t go as deep as it seems. What is happening seems dispiriting, but beautiful days are soon to come for the whole country. Our tradition is full of examples of making abundance out of a few. Every word we said, all the efforts we spent are an honor for us. If there is a price to be paid, it will be our honor as well. I salute all friends with wishes of success and solidarity.”
