Six more schools to open in Raqqa

In the face of the large influx of returning residents, the Education Committee of Raqqa Civil Council is preparing to open six schools in three neighborhoods of Raqqa city.

After the clearance of mines and a return to normal life in several neighborhoods of the Raqqa city, the Education Committee of Raqqa Civil Council opened al-Wahda school on November 27.

With the growing number of residents returning to their homes, the need for schools for children has also increased. Preparations are underway at the moment for the opening of six more schools in the city; al-Khwarizmi and Ismail Baqer schools in Rimela neighborhood, al-Maimun, al-Intifada and al-Bitar schools in al-Mashlab neighborhood and Omar Bin Abd al-Aziz School in al-Adkhar neighborhood.

Education Committee member Abdullah al-Hassan said: “Due to the huge influx of students, we have prepared six schools where mine clearing and renovation efforts have been finalized. We are now working to provide the needed staff and equipment in order for schools to start service.”
