As activities are going on as part of the 4th World March of Women which kicked off in Nusaybin district of Mardin today, Turkish soldiers opened fire on a group of youths sitting near the Mitani Cultural Centre at the border.

18-year-old Ahmet Al sustained an injury after a bullet fired by soldiers hit him in the hand. The youth who was rushed by his friends to the garden of the cultural centre said soldiers opened fire on them as they sat and talked with each other.

Al said they survived the armed attack only by lying on the ground, adding that he realized later that he had been injured.

The youth was later taken to Nusaybin state hospital by HDP executives at Mitani Cultural Centre where events and activities are continuing.
