Turkish troops continue attacks and provocation attempts in the village of Roboski in Uludere district of Şırnak which witnessed the massacre of 34 Kurdish civilians in a Turkish bombardment on 28 December 2011.

Soldiers of the Turkish army who carried out an armed attack against local people in Yemişli village and opened fire on civilians in Roboski have attempted to conduct an operation against Martyr Kendal area at the border to South Kurdistan, where HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas are located.

Troops that have also made an intense deployment at the border in recent days have been been positioned and drawn wire fences at Şirit upland where many mules of the Roboski villagers have been killed recently.

Amidst reports that construction equipment has also been brought to the border from Gülyazı Regimental Command, over 200 soldiers moved to the Şirit upland late yesterday.

Local people from Roboski who laid a barricade on the way out of the village to prevent the soldiers from moving further towards the guerrilla zones were also subjected to an attack with real bullets and intense tear gas.

After soldiers broke the barricade and marched to the Şirit upland, local people laid barricades on three other roads leading from Roboski to the border late at night and are still waiting there in order to hinder a probable operation against HPG guerrillas.
