An event was held in Lyon to express solidarity with Rojava and protest the Turkish occupation.
The solidarity night organized on Sunday by the Mesopotamia Cultural Association started with a minute of silence.
Kurdish politician Nimet Sevim commemorated those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom and greeted the Rojava resistance.
Stating that the Kurdistan freedom and democracy struggle spread to the Middle East and the world after the victory of Kobanê, Sevim added that the Turkish state bases its existence on the denial and destruction of Kurds.
Sevim said: "We believe that we can create a free, democratic life."
Singers Hozan Cömert, Rumet and Rojinda Afrin took the stage during the night. Money collected in the event will be sent to Rojava.
