People from Kurdistan held a protest in front of the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York yesterday to draw attention to the attacks by ISIS gangs on Kobanê as the general assembly held its 69th high level meeting.
The protest was organised by the Kurdish Association in America. The members of the association protested the attacks of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham).
Mehmet Fidan, making a statement on behalf of the group, said that the Kurdish people being massacred want the UN and international powers to not remain silent at these attacks. Stating that if the attacks of ISIS gangs cannot be stopped, thee will be irreparable consequences for humanity. Mehmet Fidan demanded the UN and other international powers break their silence.
The protest was also attended by women and children. Banners reading “Stop the Terrorism of ISIS gangs, support the Kurdish people in Kobanê” were unfurled.
