Special voting for Iraqi provincial council elections on Saturday

Special voting for the Iraqi provincial council elections ended at on Saturday night. The closed ballot boxes were sent to the Supreme Election Commission together with the ballot papers.

The Iraqi Supreme Election Commission announced the participation rates in the special voting held on Saturday.

1 million 2 thousand 393 people working in security institutions and 48 thousand 260 internally displaced citizens started to vote. Voting, which continued throughout the day, ended in the evening.

According to the data of the Iraqi Supreme Electoral Commission, the participation rates in the elections were as follows:

Diyala: 78 percent

Wast: 74 percent

Diwaniye: 77 percent

Zîqar: 72 percent

Kirkuk: 75 percent

Basra: 71.2 percent

Najaf: 68 percent

Çemçemal: 90 percent

Koye: 97 percent
