Spontaneous demonstration in Bremen against Turkish attacks on Rojava

In Bremen, young activists spontaneously protested against the Turkish airstrikes on Rojava.

In Bremen, activists from the Kurdish Revolutionary Youth Movement (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger, TCŞ) held a spontaneous demonstration to protest against Turkey's airstrikes on the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria. On Saturday evening, the Turkish air force bombed civilian infrastructure and settlement areas in Tirbespiyê and Dêrik, hitting oil refineries and power plants, among other things. Exact details of the extent of the damage are not yet available. According to reports, one civilian was injured in Tirbespiyê and the power supply has been interrupted in many areas.

During the march, participants chanted slogans condemning the Turkish attacks and expressing solidarity with the people of Rojava and the Kurdish guerrillas. The Kurdish guerrillas from HPG (People’s Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) have carried out large-scale operations against the Turkish occupation forces in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) over the past two days, in which seventy soldiers were reportedly killed. The Turkish army justifies the airstrikes on northern Syria with the fight against guerrilla warfare in northern Iraq. The activists in Bremen stated that: "The Turkish army is bombing the population of Rojava in violation of international law because it is unsuccessful against the guerrillas and is suffering immense losses."
