Student still in a coma after assault
21 year-old student Serzan Kurt, who had been seriously hurt in the attack by ultranationalist group in Mugla, is still in a coma. “We have never lost our faith for my son” said Omer Kurt, father of Serzan Kurt.
The boy remains in serious but stable conditions. His friends and family are waiting in front of Izmir September 9 University Medical School. During the day different people visit the hospital, members of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and young Kurds who are protesting against the brutal aggression and the police assault against the Kurdish students.
A group of ultranationalist known as “ulkucu” have assaulted a group of five Kurdish students including two women last week. The police have taken 46 Kurdish students and 24 ultranationalists into custody following the confrontation between the two groups.
