Support from the Armenian community in Austria for HDP

Support for the HDP for the upcoming general elections in Turkey on 7 June continues to increase among the people living Europe who can vote in the elections in Turkey.

Support for the HDP for the upcoming general elections in Turkey on 7 June continues to increase among the people living Europe who can vote in the elections in Turkey.

Following the declaration of the European Alevi Federation that offers its support for the HDP, the Armenian community in Austria also announced that they will support the HDP in the elections.

The Armenian Society for Democracy and Justice in Austria has issued a written statement announcing that they will support and vote for the HDP in the coming general elections to be held in Turkey and North Kurdistan on 7 June.

The statement said the AKP government could not ensure any advance for democracy and freedom in the country, adding that the HDP struggles for the minority rights, a free society and for justice. The statement stressed that the HDP is the only party in Turkey that advocates the recognition of the Armenian genocide.

The statement said “If a party in a multifarious society defends the rights of all the peoples and struggles for peace facing the past, then it deserves a strong support”.

The Armenian Society for Democracy and Justice lastly said they are very happy to have good relations with the branch of the HDP in Austria and that they wish a happy result for the party in the elections.
