Sweden’s SSU calls for international action for Afrin

The youth organization of Swedish government partner Social Democratic Workers’ Party condemned the Turkish invasion of Afrin and called on international community to act against invasion.

The youth organization of Sweden’s Social Democratic Workers’ Party, Swedish Social Democratic Youth’s Union (SSU) Chairperson Philip Boström released a written statement and pointed out that the Turkish state’s invasion of Afrin took place in defiance of the ceasefire resolution of the United Nations Security Council. Boström recalled that tens of thousands of people had to leave their homes and 280 civilians have been killed as a result of attacks.

Remarking that the Turkish state’s aggression and invasion goes against international law, Boström said; “It is time international community condemn Turkish President Erdogan and bring Turkey to account.”
