Swiss Kurdish Institute holds first ordinary congress in Bern

The first ordinary congress of the Swiss Kurdish Institute was held in Bern.

The first ordinary congress of the Swiss Kurdish Institute (Enstîtuya Kurdî a Swisre) was held in the Alevi house in the Canton of Bern.

Many politicians, academics, writers and representatives of political parties from four parts of Kurdistan attended the congress.

The Kurdish national anthem Ey Reqip opened the congress, where a minute's silence was held for those who lost their lives in the Kurdistan freedom struggle.

Kurdish politician Ali Şimşek, who made a short speech after the members of the council were elected, noted that they were going through a period when the invaders attacked Kurdistan gains from all sides.

Reminding that the Turkish state launched invasion attacks against Rojava and Medya Defense Areas, Şimşek said: “Kurds must pass this process in solidarity. If the Kurds ensure their national unity, the invaders will definitely be defeated."

After Şimşek's speech, the annual reports of the Institute were read and put to the vote. After the discussions, new charges were elected.
