Swiss parliamentarian Claudia Friedl asked the Bern government about Erdogan's invasion plan for North and East Syria.
A member of the Swiss Social Democratic Party (SP), Claudia Friedl, submitted a parliamentary question to the Swiss Parliament asking the Bern government about the Turkish government's preparations for the invasion of North and East Syria.
The Swiss politician recalled that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had recently announced a new plan to invade Syrian lands. Friedl stated that those who have been fighting ISIS for years would be targeted in this new attack. The Swiss parliamentarian added that ISIS members held in prisons in North and East Syria could be set free following a possible attack by the Turkish army.
“The freedom of ISIS members is also a great danger for us. What does the government think about the new attack and its consequences?,” said Friedl’s parliamentary question which is expected to be answered in the coming days.
