Switzerland against isolation

Actions were organised in three different cities of Switzerland to support the hunger strike against isolation.

Protests and demos in solidarity with the hunger strike resistance demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan are continuing everywhere in Europe. 

Basel 

Women protesting the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan met in Claraplatz area joining the action promoted by Ronahi Women's Assembly. The women pointed out to both the critical health of some o the hunger strikers and the silence of the European institution, particularly the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Illness (CPT).

Solothurn

Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger activists, who gathered at Seilergasse area, drew attention to hunger strikes against isolation and urged European governments to act.

The activists staged a silent action to condemn the silence by the European institutions. The activists were wearing masks with the photos of the hunger strikers.

St Gallen

In the city of St. Gallen, a march and a rally were organised under the leadership of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger. The activists gathered at St Leonard Park and marched up to the central railway station, carrying banners and photos of the hunger strikers. 

Activists handed out leaflets in German in the Bahnhofplatz area to explain the reason for the ongoing hunger strike.
