Teacher working in Mersin has his "salary cut" for speaking Kurdish and Arabic to his students

Hüdai Morsümbül, a teacher of Turkish working in Mersin, had his "salary cut" following an investigation launched against him for speaking Kurdish and Arabic to his students.

Mersin Akdeniz District Directorate of National Education launched an administrative investigation against Hüdai Morsümbül, a teacher working at Ulubatlı Hasan Secondary School, on the grounds that he spoke Kurdish and Arabic to his students and directed his students to choose Kurdish elective courses.

As a result of the investigation, Morsümbül was sentenced to "a monthly salary cut." In the decision finalized by the inspectors and notified to Morsümbül, the report dated 6 April 2022 and numbered 663.07/11 was quoted as a result of the investigation. "Even though you have been warned before, you have gone beyond the Turkish lesson curriculum and taught the students Kurdish and Arabic."

Morsümbül, a teacher of Turkish for 23 years, was sent from his school to Yenitaşkent Yusuf Bayık Secondary School.
