Ten people detained in Tatvan on Wednesday
Ten people have been taken into custody on Wednesday in the Tatvan District of Bitlis.
Tatvan Police Department carried out house raids in the early morning on Wednesday in the villages and city center of Tatvan and detained Mahfuz Baran, Serhat Orak, Murat Yýlmaz, Behçet Kaplan, Ersin Alican, Ferhat Tarhan, Murat Bakýr, Ender Aktaþ, Abdurrahim Güleryüz and one unidentified people.
According to locals, the operation was held in the connection with the protest demonstration against Robokski massacre. On 28 December the Turkish Armed Forces launched airstrikes which killed 35 civilians. The massacre has been called an "operational mistake" by the authorities which are trying to cover it up.
