Discussions on the lifting of the immunity of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Amed Deputy Semra Güzel were discussed in the Joint Commission, which consists of the members of the Constitution and Justice Committee.
The Commission decided to lift Semra's immunity with the votes of AKP, CHP, MHP and IYI Party.
General Assembly to vote on the lifting of immunity
Following the decision of the Joint Commission to lift Güzel's immunity, the demand will be referred to the General Assembly next week.
In the General Assembly, Güzel or a deputy authorized by her will be able to make a defense. After the General Assembly meeting, deputies will vote and determine whether Güzel's immunity will be lifted or not.
If Güzel's immunity is lifted, judicial proceedings will be opened for two cases.
