Ögmundur Jónasson, former minister of Justice and Interior of Iceland as well as former journalist and trade union leader, and member of the International Peace Delegation to Imrali, said that "the key to peace is Öcalan’s freedom".
Topics discussed include Turkey’s relationship with and role within NATO, including the silence of NATO and other international institutions which amounts to complicity with Turkey’s war against the Kurds.
Turkey’s agenda to destroy all Kurdish opposition, how international awareness about the situation can be raised, the necessity of peace negotiations to reach an end to the conflict, and the importance of freedom for Abdullah Öcalan for that process.
