Kurdish 'Long March' in Germany in its final stage

The Long March of the Kurdish youth, started on 11 September in German city Dortmund, continues in its last day.

Within the frame of the 'Azad Bike' (Make Free) campaign, Free Young Women (Jinên Ciwanên Azad) and Free Youths (Ciwanên Azad) are pioneering a long march from German city Dortmund to Cologne, with the motto 'Let us break occupation with revolutionary revenge, Let us free our leader'. The final stage of the march will be completed today.

The Kurdish youth reached the European Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) headquarters in Leverkusen yesterday evening, having already covered a distance of 105 km and will complete the march with 120 km today.

The humanitarian non-profit organization Kurdish Red Crescent provides the marching youth with medical care.

The participants are set to reach Cologne's Cathedral by 17.00 today afternoon, where a rally organised by Cologne Democratic Kurdish Society Center will be held to demand freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The youths will thereafter attend a panel to be held in the festival area prior to the event.
