In Ýstanbul police has arrested at least 35 people today in connection with Newroz celebrations. It is understood police attacked a crowd of hundreds of people trying to reach the celebration meeting point.

The names of the detained people so far: Federation of Young Socialists Associations president Ali Tektaþ and Serkan Bulut, Mehmet Aþit, Mehmet Ali Altun, Sedrettin Yaman, Barýþ Adýgüzel, Yücel Yeþil, Ahmet Akpolat, Osman Yaman, Güngör Yaman, Meliha Þen, Yaþar Þen, Veysi Kýlýç, Remzi Çeni, Hasan Çeni.
