Twelve people, including Fýrat Distribution staff members Þafak Çelen and Fatma Demir, were jailed on Tuesday accused of being involved in KCK (Union of Kurdistan Communities) activities in Batman. Dicle Haber Agency (DÝHA) reporter Gülsen Aslan was released.

A total of 44 people were arrested in seven cities on February 4 within the scope of the KCK City Council operation. Thirty one have been remanded in custody.
