Thousands attended Civil Friday Prayers across Turkey today. The Supreme Election Court’s (YSK) decision for Hatip Dicle was the main topic of sermons.
Diyarbakýr, Ýstanbul, Van, Hakkari, Batman, Mersin, Adana, Ýzmir, Erciþ, Baþkale, Aðrý, Varto, Bulanýk, Yüksekova, Malazgirt, Tatvan, Doðubayazýt, Derik, Nusaybin, Siirt, Bismil, Silvan, Cizre, Silopi, Þýrnak, Beytüþþebap, Kurtalan, Kýzýltepe, Ýdil, Antep, Aydýn and Manisa are the places the Civil Friday Prayers were held despite the extreme heat.
The numbers of women attending the Civil Friday Prayers have been steadily growing every Friday.
The authorities took heavy security measures. Police were in some cities and town square making video recordings the services.
Religious leaders issued calls for unity for peace as well as against the injustice of YSK.
