Thousands turn back to Kobanê

Thousands of people from the Kobanê Canton of West Kurdistan are turning back home to defend it from inhuman gangs now calling themselves the Islamic State.

The majority of the people who have recently fled ISIS attacks in Kobanê took shelter in the Suruç district of Urfa. Thousands among them have started to cross back into their land to support the YPG /YPJ forces and the local people fighting the ISIS gangs that have been launching a new wave of attacks on the canton on 15 September.

A large number of people returning from Suruç queue at the Mürşitpınar border crossing leading into the town, and are allowed in after registration procedures.

Hundreds of youths among those returning today have said they would join the ranks of the YPG (People's Protection Units) to defend their lands against the gangs.
