Three-day curfew in Turkey

Turkey continues to implement partial curfews to confront the pandemic.

The Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs has declared a three-day curfew as part of measures to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic which has already killed over three thousand people in the country.

The curfew from Thursday night to Sunday night involves the Zonguldak city in the north of country and 30 metropolitan cities; Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Malatya, Manisa, Mardin, Mersin, Muğla, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van.

During three days of curfew, which began last night at 00:00 and will continue till 00:00 Sunday night, grocery stores, markets and bakeries will be open from 9 am to 2 pm.

According to official figures announced by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca Thursday evening, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has reached 120,204. The death toll from Coronavirus, since it first emerged in Turkey in early March, has risen to 3,174.

On the other hand, 1,514 people are in intensive care and 803 are intubated. 48,886 of those infected have recovered, according to official figures.
