Hüseyin Firat, regional commander and longtime revolutionary

The HPG statement said the following on the biographies of the three guerrilla fighters: "Our friend Hüseyin was born in 1983 in a village near Malatya in Doğanşehir district. He grew up in a peasant family. As he grew older, he became increasingly aware of class antagonisms and adopted leftist and socialist values. In the process, he also experienced the suffering of the Kurdish people and developed a strong sympathy for the freedom movement of Kurdistan. He moved his environment with his upright, humane and friendly personality and motivated them with his interest in the Kurdish freedom struggle.

As a student at Boğaziçi University, he had the opportunity to learn more about the struggle of the PKK and to understand the Apoist ideology. Therefore he decided to leave the university and become a professional revolutionary. For many years he worked with youth and participated in various other social works. The AKP regime finally imprisoned him, but he continued to fight there as well. In prison, Hüseyin acquired even more knowledge about the reality of the enemy and further developed the methods of resistance. In 2008, he joined the guerrilla. There, his certainty of victory, his diligence, his willingness to make sacrifices and his cooperativeness set the direction for his path. Within a short time he became a commander. He passed on his experience and trained many volunteers with the guerrillas. He took an interest in each comrade and tried to encourage them in their will. Thus he prepared each of them individually for the fight. He did a lot for our structure.

Heval Hüseyin was heartily convinced that the liberation of the Kurdish people could only be achieved through guerrilla struggle in the mountains and self-defense in the cities, so he played an active role in building the Self-Defense Units (YPS). After that, Hüseyin went to the guerrilla fight in the Amanos Mountains and took over the task of a regional commander, which he carried out for many years. On August 22, he fell in an air raid together with two friends, thus joining the long line of the martyrs. Our friend Hüseyin will always be remembered as a role model with his attachment to the principles of Apoism and his determination as an unshakable militant.

Ali Norşin, from university to guerrilla ranks

Our comrade Ali Norşin was born in Bitlis and experienced the assimilation and annihilation policy of the Turkish state from early childhood. At the university he came closer to the freedom movement in the antifascist struggle and joined the guerrilla in Amed (Diyarbakir) in 2011. Within a short time he matured to an experienced guerrilla fighter and could record many successes. Since his participation, he has fought at the front without breathing space and resisted all difficulties. His enthusiasm for the struggle and his unshakable will will always remain a source of inspiration for the guerrilla resistance and will illuminate our path to victory.

Ciger Amed, from the fight in Shengal to Amanos

Our friend Ciger was born in Kurdistan's capital Amed and was shaped by a patriotic environment. He took a revolutionary stance against the regime's repression and joined the guerrilla in 2013. He quickly matured into a fighter in his training and in 2014 he joined one of the guerrilla groups sent against the enemy of humanity, the ISIS in the Shengal (Sinjar) mountains. He implemented his responsibility with great success. After the defeat of the ISIS, the Turkish state tried to take what the ISIS could not accomplish into its own hands. 2015 became the year in which the de facto war against the Kurds became an official war of the AKP regime. Our comrade Ciger went to Hatay and fought in the Amanos Mountains with the same determination. He fell there alongside two other brave comrades.”

In view of the loss of Hüseyin Fırat, Ali Norşin and Cîger Amed, HPG expressed their condolences to the relatives of the martyrs and the patriotic Kurdish people and promised to lead the struggle of the fallen to victory.
