Three people walking to Şemdinli for peace detained in Istanbul

Three people walking for peace from Istanbul to Hakkari were detained by police.

Vedat Çamlı, Mustafa Aksoy and Resul Kalyoncu who started to walk for peace from Istanbul's Beykoz district to Hakkari's Şemdinli district have been detained by police soon after their leave.

The walkers for peace were detained in Elmalı neighborhood of Beykoz and taken to a village, with police refusing to allow them because "the walk is open to provocation".

Çamlı, Aksoy and Kalyoncu later headed towards Istanbul Governor's Office to ask for permission, upon which they were detained by police and taken to Beykoz district police directorate.
