Three wounded as soldiers attack protestors in Şemdinli

Turkish soldiers attacked people who have been on road-block protest for the last ten days to protest against the repression by soldiers in Yeşilova (Navberojan) village of Hakkari's Yüksekova district.

People involved in the road-block protest outside the military guard post in the village were attacked with tear gas today after protestors prevented the three construction equipment sent to the region for the construction of new roads.

Soldiers detained Muhyettin Kaya whom they later assaulted inside the military post, after which Kaya's father Bekir Kaya and brother Sadık Kaya also went into the post where they were also battered by soldiers.

Protestors took Muhyettin Kaya from the soldiers and rushed him to the health care center in Derecik as he suffered a critical injury, while Sadık and Bekir Kaya have also been injured during the attack by soldiers.

Tension in the village continues.
