Three YPG internationalists commemorated in Lorient

In the French city of Lorient, a memorial service was held for three fallen YPG internationalists.

Yesterday, internationalists Kendal Breizh, Baran Galicia and Baran Sason, who died in the fight against the ISIS and the Turkish invasion of North and East Syria, were commemorated at a memorial service in Lorient in Brittany, France. The event was attended by many people from Kurdistan and France.

Baran Galicia (Samuel Prada Leon) from Galicia and Breton Kendal Breizh (Olivier Le Clainche) were martyred in resistance against Turkish invasion troops in Afrin on 10 February 2018. Baran Sason (Sjoerd Heeger) from the Netherlands lost his life in the battle against the ISIS in Deir ez-Zor on 10 February 2018.

Speeches were delivered at the commemoration ceremony by Fehmi Kaplan, co-chair of the Democratic Kurdish Community Centre of Rennes, Eylem Balta, co-chair of the Women's Council of Rennes, and Ricou Hervé from the Greek-Breton Friendship Association.

Balta and Kaplan stressed the importance of defending the values created by the Rojava revolution and the sacrifices made by internationalists in the context of this struggle.

Ricou Hervé reported on the terrible situation in the Lavrio refugee camp in Greece and strongly condemned the use of refugees as a means of blackmail. He criticised Turkey's war policy and called for resistance.

Afterwards friends told about their memories of the Breton YPG fighter Kendal Breizh.
