"To our Kurdish sisters and brothers, in Paris and across the world"

Progressive International stands “in solidarity with the Kurdish people and the loved ones of Mîr Perwer, Evîn Goyî and Abdullah Kızıl who gave and lost their lives in the struggle for peace and justice for the Kurdish people.”

The Progressive International released a statement expressing their solidarity with the Kurdish people after Friday’s massacre in Paris that claimed the lives of three Kurdish activists.
The statement by the Cabinet of the Progressive International includes the following:

"Our hearts are with the Kurdish people following the assassination of three Kurdish patriots in Paris.

We remember the massacre of three Kurdish female activists at the gunpoint of a Turkish intelligence henchman one decade ago — on almost the same day and in almost the same place.

With this recent memory in mind, Friday's terrorist attack appears as yet another escalation in a campaign of physical and psychological war on Kurdish dissent.

We consider it no surprise that the attack comes at a time when Ankara is driving a full-scale land operation to uproot and eliminate Kurdish forces in Northern Syria.

We demand a thorough investigation in order (i) to resolve the purpose of and the network behind the killing of these three Kurdish refugees, (ii) to bring all those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice, and (iii) to trace the roots of these assassinations to the unresolved murders of Sakine Cansız and her comrades a decade ago.

The Progressive International carries the message of solidarity of millions of men and women, workers and peasants from across the globe to the Kurdish people and the loved ones of Mîr Perwer, Evîn Goyî and Abdullah Kızıl who gave and lost their lives in the struggle for peace and justice for the Kurdish people. Freedom will prevail. Jin, Jiyan, Azadi."
