The arrests of HDP co-mayor of Savur Municipality Gülistan Öncü, Mazıdağı co-mayor Nalan Özaydın, Derik Municipality co-mayor Mulk Esik and Urfa Suruç Municipality co-mayor Hatice Çevik were protested in Savur by party members and executives.

Savur Municipality co-mayor Mahsum Denktas said in front of the HDP building surrounded by police: "We will continue to serve our people until the end. We do not recognize the trustees."

Eylem Amak, HDP Mardin Provincial co-chair added: "We know very well the reason for the detention of women co-mayors. This government is attacking women in all areas. But our struggle against this sopruse went on yesterday, is carried out today and will continue tomorrow."

Amed Bar Association also reminded the murdered president Tahir Elçi in an action they held in front of the Diyarbakır Courthouse every week.
