Tuesday: 24 people taken into custody
The number of people taken into custody in Istanbul and Eruh-Siirt on Tuesday rose to 24 by the evening.
Following police raids on Siirt Municipality main office and other premises, the number of people taken into custody in the area rose to 17, including Eruh Mayor Melih Oktayý and Kurtalan Deputy Mayor Çaçan Yorulmaz.
In Istanbul the number of people taken into custody in connection with explosives found in the forest area in the Ýkitelli District of the city rose to eight.
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Istanbul Deputy Sabahat Tuncel’s driver Gülden Çatalbaþ and Daily Özgür Gündem Editor Hatice Bozkurt are among the people detained.
