Tugluk: answers are needed now or risk of war will increase

Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s Independent Candidate for Van, Aysel Tugluk, said that Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan "intends to bring this process to progress in a peaceful way and by presenting reasonable demands. But so far, there had been no answer from the other side, and this means a clash, an invite to civil war.”

Tugluk added that “Kurds attach importance to democratic politics despite the effort of the “state and system” to close the democratic arena to them. We believe that we will obtain a result through democratic politics. Despite all obstacles, democratic politics is a field and a situation from the stand point of us. It is in fact an instrument within our fight for freedom.”

Tugluk ended her remarks by saying that "unfortunately, we all together witness the intolerance created by a refusal to answer to all efforts for peace. And at this point, if the government doesn’t show a real will to work towards a solution, this negative attitude will lead to a clash as there will be no other way left. We hope to experience a positive development. The reasonable demands of Mr Ocalan for peace are not responded by the government. This situation is not for the benefit of anybody. But, however, the government leads the process to a process of a conflict.”
