According to the AFP, Turkey’s economy is in a recession for the first time since 2009.
The AFP article said, “3 weeks before local elections, bad news for the Turkish government: The country is in a recession for the first time since 2009.”
According to statistics institution TUIK’s data, Turkey’s Gross National Product shrunk by 2.4% compared to the previous quarter, which saw a 1.1% shrink.
