Having gone over the top against Israel after the deadly operation on the peace convoy which killed 9 people (4 of them Turks) and wounded many others, Turkey now wants to reduce the tension with Israel.
In order not to come face to face with Israel, Turkish Air Force imposed restriction on its flights on East Mediterranean after the raid on one of the ships that aimed to go beyond the blockade in Gazze. It was also revealed that the flights of Diyarbakýr Main Jet Base Command on East Mediterranean, which were planned before the crisis, were canceled within this frame.
Diyarbakýr Main Jet Base Command, which protects the south border of Turkey and arranges the flights in East Mediterranean, didn’t increase the number of “on call” airplanes. Turkey has recently increased the number of these planes in periods when the signals for a possible military operation on Iran were strengthened.
