Turkis president Gül says "relations with Israel will never be the same" after attack

Damages suffered by Turkish-Israeli ties are "irreparable". Relations "will never be the same" after the attack on the convoy bound for Gaza. Comments made by Turkish President Abdullah Gül in a televised interview indicate an hard stance by the President.

"From now on, Turkish-Israeli ties will never be the same. This incident has left an irreparable and deep scar on the relations", said Gül.

The president added that last Monday's attack by Israeli forces, in which eight Turks and a U.S. national of Turkish origin were killed, "is not an issue that can be forgotten ... or covered up."
