Turkish Armed Forces deliver coffins to the border

The alleged delivery of coffins, ordered by Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) within the scope of the cross-border operation in the border region, has been commented as "preparation for death”.

While reports of clashes are coming through from Federal Kurdistan Region where soldiers of Turkish Armed Forces have recently entered, TSK in a statement claimed that soldiers didn’t cross the border and military exercises are being performed in the border region. While tension is claimed in some places between peshmerga forces and soldiers, the military mobilization at border points continue. Reports say that military operations in the inner side are on increase and military shipment is deployed at the border line.

One of the most remarkable preparations for the cross border operation was the 300 coffins ordered by the TSK from Diyarbakýr last month. The coffins were allegedly sent from Diyarbakýr to border areas with cargo planes last week.

While the wounds of the Van earthquake still haven’t been healed with hundreds of deaths, the government continues to insist on the cross border operation rather than seeing the humanitarian plight and needs of hundreds of people in Van. The government’s giving visa to the operation is commented in the public as; “The government is at the border, not in Van where it is supposed to be.”
