Turkish army crossed the border - NEW

Turkish army entered into South Kurdistan. While dozens of military vehicles and tanks have crossed the border, suspended bridges were laid over the Hezil water, the region is under intense bombardment and telephone networks were cut off in Kanimasi region.

In addition to the intense mobility at the boundary line since the guerrilla actions in Çukurca district of Hakkari on October 19, Turkish army have deployed new reinforcements close by the Habur Border Gate.

According to information received, reinforced tanks and Reo vehicles crossed the border over the Kiriya Reþ battalion which is located very close to the Zaxo city in South Kurdistan.

The regions of Geliyê Feqiran –located between Zap and Çukurca- and Yekmalê Tirvaniþ close by many villages of Kanimasi were reportedly bombed by warplanes.

While there is intense helicopter traffic in the area between Metina and Turkey, guerrilla sources report military build-up.

It is reported that warplanes are incessantly flying over Kanimasi region.
