Turkish FM met with “Terrorist Turkey” slogan in Switzerland

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was met with “Terrorist Turkey” and “Murderer Turkish state” slogans in Bern city of Switzerland where he arrived for an official visit.

People from Turkey and Kurdistan protested Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu as he arrived in Bern city of Switzerland for an official meeting.

The Turkish Minister meets the Foreign Minister of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter. The official talk comes at a time when politicians from Switzerland direct heavy criticism at Turkey.

Many circles from Switzerland including Socialist Party deputies criticised Çavuşoğlu's visit which had been announced to the press yesterday, defending that it was wrong to receive the Turkish Minister in such a process when Turkey should rather be criticized the most. These circles also called on Burkhalter to warn the Turkish Foreign Minister regarding the unlawful actions of the government in Turkey.

Ahead of the Çavuşoğlu-Burkhalter meeting in the Federal Parliament of Bern, demonstrators from Turkey and Kurdistan accompanied by left-wing and socialist groups from Switzerland staged a march from the Central Station to the Parliament, carrying banners which read "Murderer Erdoğan", "Terrorist Turkey", "Murderer Çavuşoğlu", and chanting slogans protesting the Turkish state and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A press statement made by the demonstrators in front of the Parliament called attention to the Turkish state's massacres in Kurdistan and increasing attacks on free press and alternative media outlets.

Anarchist groups from Switzerland called upon their government to end all their relations with the Turkish state immediately, and strongly criticized their Foreign Minister, asking why he met with the Foreign Minister of a state that was responsible for the death of thousands of people.

Demonstrators later ended their protest with the slogan "Murderer Erdoğan".
