Turkish nationalists call new rally against Kurds in Amsterdam

It has been reported that Turkish nationalist who attacked the Kurdish Cultural Center in Amsterdam, have made a call to gather again on Wednesday.

Amsterdam police officials remarked that they would take the necessary measures regarding the notification that Turkish youngsters will gather on Wednesday to cause a scene.

Turkish nationalists are sending messages over BlackBerry Messenger (ping) and making a call to gather at Museumplein in Amsterdam and to attack Kurdish institutions.

Nine people, included some police officers, were wounded. Five people were taken into custody last Sunday in Museumplein in Amsterdam where nationalists attacked the Kurdish Cultural Center following a march organized on the pretext of soldier deaths.

Remarking that the police haven’t taken enough precautions against the possible attack, Kurdish Cultural Centre (KNCCA) officials demanded an investigation into the excessive force use of police on Kurds who tried to protect themselves during the events last week.

KNCCA officials have not been able to meet the mayor of Amsterdam so far. They stated that they would soon file a criminal complaint against the police officers and attackers involved in the events, adding that they would be firm about the investigation.
