At least five people were killed in a Turkish combat drone attack in northwestern Iraq on Sunday. A woman is apparently among the victims, according to Iraqi security sources.
The attack by a killer drone of the Turkish state reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon in Tal Afar. The town is about fifty kilometres east of Shengal (Sinjar) in Nineweh province. The car is believed to have been on its way to Mosul, further west.
Information on the identity of the victims is not yet available. Pictures from the scene show a completely burnt-out wreckage of the vehicle. The Iraqi army has launched an investigation into the airstrike and is carrying out tests on the car.
