Two BDP women workers detained

Two Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) women members - Dürdane Sakýk and Pemba Çelik - have been taken into custody while carrying out electoral work for the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s candidates in the centre of Muþ. According to DIHA News Agency, the women have been held at the Muþ Police Department without any explanation about their arrest.

BDP Cizre Branch Chair Esat Malkuç has blamed Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan for turning BDP into a target. According to Malkuç the police attacked the Democratic Solution Tent in Cizre and detained nine Kurdish youngsters right after Erdoðan’s meeting on May 28 in Hatay. The PM had alleged that the Solution Tents are the places where the molotov cocktails are being produced.
