Two more HDP co-mayors sent to prison
Bulanık co-mayor Adnan Topçu and Varto Municipality co-mayor Ülkü Karaaslan, who were taken into custody on Tuesday and replaced by trustees, were arrested while three other co-mayors were released on bail.
Bulanık municipality co-mayor Eylem Saruca, Varto municipality co-mayor Mahmut Yalçın and Erentepe city mayor Dilaver Kesik were released on bail while Adnan Topçu, co-mayor of Bulanık Municipality and Ülkü Karaaslan, co-mayor of Varto were arrested.
Bulanık HDP co-mayor Eylem Saruca and Erentepe HDP mayor Dilaver Kesik, who were detained in Muş following raids on their houses were accused of "membership and making propaganda for an illegal organization" and who were replaced by trustees on Wednesday, were sent to the prosecutor's office and released on bail. Later in the day Varto municipality co-mayor Mahmut Yalçın was also releaded on bail.
Arrested co-mayors Topçu and Karaaslan were taken to Muş E Type Prison.
