Two woman executives of BDP taken into custody

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) PM member Arzu Mucu and BDP Women’s Council member Çimen Altürk were taken into custody in Hakkari on 20 February.

BDP PM member Arzu Mucu who went to Hakkari for celebrations of the coming International Women’s Day on 8 March was taken into custody at a police control point in Depin area. While Mucu was taken to Hakkari Security Directorate, the reason of the detention hasn’t been reported yet.

BDP Women’s Council member Çimen Altürk was also taken into custody in Ehmedê Xanî Neighborhood of Doðubeyazýt district where she went to last week within the scope of the activities for 8 March. Altürk is reported to have been taken into custody upon the instruction by Public Prosecutor of Diyarbakýr.
