Two-year-old Mawa buried in Brussels

The almost two-year-old Kurdish girl Mawa has been buried in Brussels. The Kurdish toddler had been killed in a chase by Belgian police bullets two weeks ago.

The burial ceremony for 18 months old girl Mawa organized by the Kurdish umbrella organization NAV-BEL and the Kurdish women's movement in Belgium began with a demonstration at the Lyce Square in Brussels. The participating crowd, dressed in white, silently protested against the deadly police shootings that had hit the little girl in a vehicle transporting refugees.

The ceremony ended at the cemetery Schaerbeck, where the body of Mawa was laid to rest.
